MBLAQ to make official debut into Japan in May

Korean idols MBLAQ are gearing up to make their singing debut in Japan by opening their official Japanese website (http://www.mblaq.jp/index2.php).

The webpage indicated that the five-member boy band will make their official debut into the Japanese music scene on May 5 followed by a tour.

"We have been preparing for MBLAQ's debut into Japan since last year and they have signed with major music company Sony Music Records for it," a PR official from their local agency J.Tune Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone on Friday.

She went onto explain that the group will kick off their activities in Japan in early May while the debut album will be released sometime in April. "We are still in the planning stages for a city tour but nothing has been finalized as of yet."

Meanwhile, MBLAQ will unveil the 3D edition of their first full-length album "BLAQ Style" -- composed of their 13 tracks as well as three new songs -- on February 22.

Composed of members Seung-ho, G.O., Lee Joon, Chun-dung and Mir, MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) made their debut in 2009 with their single album "JUST BLAQ" and followed it up with their second single "Y" in May 2009.

The boys have been promoting their first album "BLAQ Style" and the title track "Stay" which has topped various online and offline music websites since its release on January 10.

MBLAQ charms with their debonair shoot for “Vogue”

The boys of MBLAQ participated in their first photoshoot since their comeback, and they’ve shed their ‘dark concept’ in favor of a crisp and natural look for “Vogue” magazine.
The Vogue team sought to draw out the mature men behind the pop idols, and decided that the best way to do it was to focus on natural light and minimal props. Against such a backdrop, the boys became quite relaxed and delivered a photoshoot that could only be described as ‘debonair’.
A representative commented, “MBLAQ has the best proportions out of all of the other idol groups, so their charms really stood out throughout the photoshoot. Even though they were seen joking around, they immediately settled down and handled their interviews in a serious manner.

Lead vocalist G.O. mused, “A band is created by adding members of specific positions, but idol groups are pieced together with members the agency feels are right for a certain image, so the public probably feels overwhelmed when they first see an idol group. Amidst all that, we worked hard in trying to bring out who we were, and we always try to remember that communication with the public is important.
MBLAQ’s full interview and eight-page photoshoot can be seen in the February edition of “Vogue.”

MBLAQ delivers an impressive interview about their growth as a group

proud of Mblaq, they improved soo much, love the new album ; all tracks are awesome ^^

After a long hiatus from the music industry, MBLAQ made an impressive return with their double title tracks, “Stay” and “Cry“.
The boys recently sat down for an interview with Osen, and gave thoughtful responses to questions about their growth.
G.O. began, “The one thing that’s changed the most with this promotion is that it’s focused more on the melody now.  Before, we were produced according to a specific performance style that made our choreography stand out more than our songs. Now the ratio of the importance of singing to dancing is 7:3. We hope that this will allow us to step a bit closer to the public.
Regarding their independence from RainMir continued, “Jihoon (Rain)-hyung told us to learn how to become independent. Now that it’s been a year since our debut, he wanted us to show a unique color of our own through this first official album.  At first, we were worried since we were used to being dependent on him, but working through things one by one helped a lot.  The opportunity allowed us to mature and improve ourselves.”
The reporter then asked about the fierce competition amongst rival boy bands, to which Seunghoresponded, “At the time of our debut, we failed to live up to the expectations created around our hype. We’ve also gone through a long hiatus, but it’s helped us think differently. Idol groups tend to release consecutive albums without rest in order to stay in the spotlight, but we’d rather take the time to fix what we lacked when our promotion ends. We want to become singers who last for a long time, so it’s important that we pay attention to these things right from the start.  I just want to hear that we’ve improved.”
G.O. continued, “We weren’t impatient with ourselves in the competition against other groups.  In order to focus better on our album production, we cut back on broadcast appearances and created a sort of tunnel to communicate with the public and to make sure that our songs were delivered properly.”
Seungho concluded, “All in all, we just want to hear that we paid attention to our music a lot.  As much as we work to take one step closer to the public with our music, I hope the public looks after our efforts in return.”

MBLAQ records 25,000 orders for “BLAQ Style” in just one day

yaaaay sooo happy for Mblaq, looooooooove the new album, i preordered it already ^^, can't wait to get my hands on it, kekeke
LOVE MBLAQ FIGHTING
MBLAQ’s first official album, “BLAQ Style,” has received an explosive amount of interest, as demonstrated by its 25,000 orders, just one day after its release.
On January 11th, J. Tune Camp stated, “The number of orders for MBLAQ’s ‘BLAQ Style’ has exceeded 25,000 copies. We’re currently producing more copies overnight in order to match up to the number of orders. Even so, we can’t be sure that it’ll be enough. We’ll be making additional productions soon.”
This is the group’s first official album, despite the fact that it’s been a year and two months since their debut. The album itself has been headlining ever since its first title track, “Cry,” was released on January 3rd.  The second title track, “Stay,” was released on the morning of the 10th, and both have managed to rank in on major live music charts. “Darling,” which was produced by their mentor Rain, is also steadily climbing the charts.
Other influential figures in the industry have lent their support for the album, such as Rado (B2ST’s “Soom“), Lee Jae Myung (SNSD’s “Kissing You,” Super Junior’s “Merry You“), and Bae Jin Ryeol(Rain’s “Hip Song,” MBLAQ’s “Y“).
Leader Seungho composed the intro for “Sad Memories“, and played the piano melody, while maknaeMir wrote the rap for “You’re My+” for their fans.
MBLAQ will be holding their comeback stage on Mnet’s “M. Countdown“ on January 13th.
